ASSUMPTION OF RISK, INDEMNIFICATION, HOLD HARMLESS, WAIVER & RELEASE
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the 2026 All South Karate Championship (the "Tournament") on April 11, 2026, to be held at Human Performance Center, New Orleans, LA presented by the All South Karate Federation ("ASKF”) and by Louisiana Karate Association (“LKA"), I (Participant) agree as set forth below.
I understand that karate is a martial art; that there are risks and dangers inherent in karate competition; that serious accidents do occur: and that participants may sustain serious personal injuries, including mortal injury, and/or that property damage. Knowing the risks and dangers involved: (1) I assume any and all risk of personal injury, death or property damage that I may sustain, incur, or cause, that is directly or indirectly related to my participation in the Tournament. (2) I agree to indemnify and hold harmless all of the individuals or entities who through negligence or carelessness might be or become liable to me, or liable to another party because of my fault, for any and all damages directly or indirectly related to my participation. (3) I waive, release and discharge, in advance, any and all liability, claims, causes of action and possible causes action whatsoever, for any and all losses, damages and injuries, including but not limited to damages for death, personal injury and property damage, that I may have or that may subsequently accrue to me, my heirs or assigns, directly or indirectly related to my participation in the Tournament. (4) Should I sustain any damages related to participation in the Tournament for which it is judicially determined that liability is not waived and released by this agreement, I stipulate and agree that such damages are limited to the total sum of $500.00. (5) This agreement shall apply in favor of all individuals and entities who might otherwise be or become liable to me, including but not limited to LKA; ASKF; their instructors, officers, directors, members, agents, employees and insurers; and all promoters, organizers, directors, tournament directors, and officials of, and other participants in the Tournament and shall be binding on me, my heirs and assigns. (6) This agreement shall be construed to give the fullest effect allowed by law to my undertakings and agreements herein. If any part of this agreements should be held to be null or otherwise unenforceable, all other parts of the agreement shall nonetheless remain in effect and enforceable. (7) I hereby acknowledge that the Tournament organizers for publicity, sales, or promotions can use any individual, team, or any other pictures or videos taken of me in this Tournament without compensation to me. If the Participant is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign. Furthermore, if Participant is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must remain on-site during the entire time the Participant is attending the tournament.
