Team USA, including LKA's own mother-son pair Cathy Jarushi and AJ Jarushi, demonstrated strong spirit and technique at the 2018 JKA PanAmerican Karate Championships this month in Lima, Peru!
All competitors fought hard against elite athletes from across North and South America to bring home a total of 3 golds, 1 silver, 2 bronzes & 4 Top 16 placements!
Women's Adult Team kata earned third place with a beautiful Gojushiho Sho kata. The Men's Team Kata displayed athleticism and power performing Sochin kata to earn 4th place.
The Men's Kumite (sparring) Team displayed practiced technique and strong resolve to medal with a hard-fought bronze.
This international competition experience will surely enhance the quality and strength of karate training in LKA and all schools of the Japan Karate Association/American Federation.
